Honoring Joe Stork, Live in DC

JOIN MERIP for a special live event honoring Joe Stork, our co-founder and long-time editor, who passed away nearly a year ago. On November 22 from 7-10pm we’ll gather  at the 450 K Street location of Busboys and Poets in Washington, DC for an evening of food, drink and conversation with Joe’s friends and comrades. The event will be MC’d by Joost Hiltermann and feature reflections from frequent MERIP contributors Aslı Bâli, Joel Beinin, Zachary Lockman, Sarah Leah Whitson, Lisa Hajjar and Rick Reinhard as well as music from Joe’s friend and collaborator Frank Haltiwanger.

This event coincides with the Middle East Studies Association’s annual meeting, so we hope many of you from far and wide will be able to join us. There will be light refreshments provided and the event is free to attend, though we hope many of you will RSVP at this link to help us plan appropriately and consider chipping in a donation to help us cover the costs.
